My client  is is a resource- and technology-based company that develops, produces and markets worldwide a broad range of specialty mineral, mineral-based and synthetic mineral products and related systems and services

 

This position is responsible for providing direction to the process engineering function to meet overall company objectives including identifying, evaluating and implementing technologies, engineering team management, internal process design, and technical staffing.

 

Once familiar with existing processes, this position will become responsible for process design, technical design, and estimating of satellite projects, both Greenfield and expansions.  As such, the role of, and the organization under the Senior Manager – Process Engineering will evolve and include changes in his/her direct reports. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide process designs that produce the desired product(s) and volumes in an efficient and cost effect manner. Provide each regional business leader with information on all aspects of process engineering matters. Develop and coordinate the implementation of process engineering designs and programs. Ensure execution of the capital plan. Serve as the technical authority on process engineering matters. Develop global standardization of manufacturing processes, process engineering standards, and plant designs. Identify skill gaps and provide direction to insure that training and education programs are implemented. Provide input into the planning of the organization, including manpower, outsourcing, and budgeting. Ensure efficient and productive interactions between all project team members.   Audit and review the quality of process engineering programs.  Maintain and support prescribed programs of employee relations, health and safety, training and development, compensation and benefits for all appropriate engineering personnel.  Stay abreast of design engineering trends and developments

Qualifications

an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or the equivalent

10-15 years of related engineering experiences
