My client a privately held drywall and acoustical ceiling company has an excitng opportunity
Rapidly growing privately held company is looking to identify and recruit an experienced Project Manager professional with a background in commercial or industrial drywall construction or the building industry for their corporate headquarters and help take the company to the next level. The Project Manager will report to operations and will help lead/direct site foremen as well as interface with the customer base.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be an energetic accomplished person with a strong background in the construction or allied industry. The person needs to be ndependent and knowledgably of drywall. This individual will need to have the confidence to work with minimal supervision. This individual will also have to have the foresight to help develop an infrastructure of the company.
JOB SUMMARY
Essential Function: Responsible for the successful execution of overall project (s) including the responsibility to plan, organize and control the project team throughout the project, represent the company, and to maintain productivity and construction schedules within bounds of estimates.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge and experience of, drywall and acoustic ceiling installation is required.
Strong background and demonstrated success in commercial and industrial construction projects up to $10 million with experience in taking a project from start to finish required.
Completely understands the contract and makes all related decisions regarding each project.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to relate well with customers, vendors, architects, employees and others involved on the project. Bilingual (Spanish) skills a plus, but not required.
Computer literate with knowledge of Excel and designing spreadsheets; MS Word, and able to learn new software quickly. Knowledge of Quick Bid and On-Screen software programs when estimating preferred, but not necessary.
Construction knowledge and background includes reading blueprints, working with vendors, preparing for bids, preparing “cost studies”, maintaining schedules, understands safety and is safety focused.
Purchasing experience for assigned projects and able to issue all subcontract and purchase orders.
Understands Subcontract Agreements.
Drivers License and reliable transportation required to go to various job sites.
Interpersonal Skills Needed:
Time sensitive with the ability to complete projects on time and meet deadlines.
Detail oriented, ability to multitask and handle several projects,
organized, able to prioritize work, pro-active, strong problem solving
skills, and able to work in a fast paced environment.
General Duties of the Project Manager include:

Assisting in development of Project Staff

Coordinate onsite activities with corporate office
activities
Organize and oversee jobsite administration
- Organize and coordinate field supervision
- Issue Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
- Develop, monitor, update and communicate the GC’s
project schedule and periodic revisions.
- Manage subcontractor schedules, quality of work,
coordination with other trades and payments
Coordinate job cost-progress targets with production
- Update job costs/budgets
- Prepare monthly progress billings
- Contract administration
- Create and maintain a safe/secure jobsite environment
- Identify and resolve all change order issues
- Establish and maintain relationships with the GC,
design professionals, building officials and owners.
